Sample Sheet

  • Sample sheet produced to assist in the choice of colour and style of engraving for those ordering bespoke stationery
  • 128 x 203mm (5 x 8in)

An attractive sheet with fifteen examples of the engravers’ art, die stamped in different colours, produced by G E Oliver, engraver and die sinker, of Edinburgh, Scotland. G E Oliver was probably a descendant of George Oliver who was in business as an engraver and die sinker in Edinburgh in 1865 when he designed stamps for The Edinburgh & Leith Circular Delivery Company. The sheet is believed to date from some time after 1896 when the firm of Harrison, organ builders, took the style Harrison & Harrison.
